Obituary

Bryant Anthony Griffin, 35 of Staunton, Virginia, also lovingly known as "Bj", "Griff", "Booty" and "dad", suddenly gained his wings on Friday, September 6, 2024, in Staunton. He was born June 20, 1989, in Easton, Md to Chantay N. "Dawson" Joseph and James M. Griffin Sr.

Bryant was a student of both Talbot and Dorchester County Schools. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Kendra Baynard-Griffin on July 28, 2008. They were inseparable until his death.

Bryant was a licensed Massage Therapist who started Break Time Massage, while also working at Breezy Hill Day Spa in Staunton, and Siloam's Healing Hands in Waynesboro. He loved making people feel better physically and was very gifted.

Bryant enjoyed spending time with his children and taking them to new experiences. He enjoyed movies and music. Pretty much anything he could sing, and he loved to dance, but was not that great. He had a great voice and was a gifted artist. It was about the fun for him. He was a great cook with an adventurous pallet. Bryant loved to roller blade and was a fast driver. He spoke frequently with his mother, his favorite aunt, Michelle Dawson-Woolford, and his favorite uncle, Andre' Dawson. He has never missed a Baltimore Ravens game since he became a fan in 2011. He loved the game" Magic the Gathering." His most prized possessions were his family and his Massage Therapist License. They brought him the most joy.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 16 years, Kendra Baynard-Griffin of Staunton, Va; his natural children Chilaa and ZyKaraa Baynard-Griffin of Staunton, Va; his adopted children: Jillian Lloyd and Grayson Fitzgerald of Staunton, Va; his parents: Chantay Dawson-Joseph of Cambridge, and James Griffin Sr of Ridgely, Md; a best friend/sister, Rebecca Lloyd of Staunton; a sister, Chontaya  Griffin of Cambridge; 3 brothers: Eric Blake of Cambridge,  Jaurice Henry of Easton, and James Griffin, Jr of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 stepbrothers: Arthur Jackson of Easton and Antoine Jackson of Trappe; a stepsister, Arshelle Cooper of Preston; 3 aunts: Doresa Griffin of Ridgely, Wanda Falice of Newark, DE, Tracy Dunn of Ridgely;  grandparents-in-law: Deacon Harry and Janet Jenkins of Easton; 2 brothers-in-law: Keith Jr of Baltimore and Chad Baynard (Elizabeth) of Federalsburg; 3 sisters-in-law: Farren Jenkins of Salisbury, Kenyajah Baynard of Cambridge, Kishanae Baynard of Baltimore, and Deja Acree of Baltimore; father-in-law, Keith Baynard Sr (Jeanetta) of Ridgely; paternal grandparents: Hazel Dunn and William Boyce of Ridgely; paternal grandmother, Oneda Baynard of Cordova, and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. His laughter and hugs will truly be missed.

Bryant was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Kelle Jenkins, a maternal grandmother, Maggie Dawson, and brother-in-law, DeAndre Dawson.

Let's send him down those Crossroads right.
