The former Delores Audrey Slaughter, also known as Dee, was born on October 1, 1953, to the late Marjorie Lee Slaughter and Norman Clifford Russell, Sr., in Easton, MD. Dee departed this earthly home on December 24, 2023, in Hartford, Connecticut.

Dee attended public schools in Talbot County and graduated from Easton High School in 1973. Then she held several prestigious positions in Massachusetts and Connecticut until she retired. As a breast cancer survivor and advocate for prioritizing women's physical and mental health, Dee was featured in the Central Connecticut 60 Strong calendar.

Dee leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 20 years, Lawrence Hinton; a  daughter of blessing, Jayde Hinton; grandson, Jackson; brothers: Rudolph Russell, Sr., Easton, MD, Garrett Slaughter, Cambridge, MD, Norman Russell of Baltimore, MD, Joey Slaughter (Donna) New Castle, DE; sisters: Rose Slaughter and Betty Taylor both of Easton MD, Patricia Mannette, Hartford, CT, and Dr. Dorothy Seabrook (Donte), Fayetteville, NC; brothers-in-law: Alverez Hinton, Hopkinton, MA, Travis Hinton (Joy), West Brookfield, MS; sister-in-law, Ida Hinton, Enfield, CT; as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends like family.
