IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gwendolyn Louise
(Hayward) Peters
December 10, 1952 – September 6, 2024
Gwendolyn Louise Hayward Peters, 71 of Salisbury, MD entered eternal rest on September 6, 2024. She was born December 10, 1952, to the late Lawrence Calvin Hayward, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Sutton Hayward in Princess Anne, MD.
Gwen, as she was known, received her formal education and graduated from Wicomico Sr. High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to James Peters.
She soon pursued a career at Peninsula General Hospital (PGH), where she was employed for 28 years. Gwen was a diligent worker. However, after working at PGH for many years, the job became physically demanding. This began to affect Gwen's health. Gwen decided to leave the hospital and on the advice of her mother, she took classes in childcare and helped her mother operate the family-owned daycare center. Shortly after working in the daycare center, Gwen's mother's health began to decline. Gwen unselfishly moved in with her mother and took care of her until God called her mother home.
Gwen enjoyed spending time and making memories with her family, especially with her four sons, they were her world. Gwen's health began to change one day while enjoying the holiday with her sons. The doctors were uncertain about Gwen's outcome. However, God intervened and blessed Gwen to live 10 more years until he took her home September 6, 2024, to receive her reward.
She leaves to cherish fond memories with her four sons: Kevin White (Nandranie) of Salisbury, Corey Hayward of Fruitland, MD, Jason Peters and Jermaine Peters of Salisbury, MD; Three grandchildren Kara Hayward, Khalil Hayward, and Courtney Hayward; Three sisters: Sylvia Duffy (Richard) of Arizona, Linda Regina Williams of Los Angeles, CA and Linnette Michelle Hayward of Georgia, One brother Russell Hayward of Salisbury; one maternal aunt, Berniece Cottman of Princess Anne, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
