James Wilbert Ballard, 81 formerly of Princess Anne, passed away, April 13, 2026, in Villa Rica, Georgia. He was the son of the late Andrew Ballard and Dorothy Morris.

James was raised and received his formal education in the Somerset School District, Princess Anne. After high school, James enlisted in the United States Army serving in Vietnam.

James is survived by his wife, Julia Ballard of Villa Rica; 2 sons: Edwin Ballard of Owings Mills, MD and James “Mickey” Ballard of Salisbury; 3 stepdaughters: Cheryl (Richard) Stewart, Dawn Matthews, and Patricia Jones; adopted families: Audrey (King) Renton-Martin, Kristina, and Amoy Martin, and a host of grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

James will be dearly missed.
