On July 17, 2022, at 11:11 PM God saw that Keith was weary, so he sent an angel to whisper in his ear it's time to come home. Keith Tyrone Sherwood (aka Tyrone) was born on May 12, 1957, to the late Marian Odessa Sherwood Green and the late Charles Edward Green Jr. He gained his heavenly wings on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Montefiore Hospital, Bronx New York.

Keith grew up in Easton Maryland where he received his education in the Talbot County School System. He was very active in sports during his high school years where he played football and was on the wrestling team. He graduated from Easton High School on June 3, 1976. Keith met his high school sweetheart Vanessa Young in 1973 and later married her in 1979. They share one daughter and two grandchildren who he adored. Keith loved to cook and was employed at several locations in Easton enhancing his skills at The Holiday Inn, Easton Manor, and Easton Hospital for many years.

In 1982 Keith and his family moved to Mount Vernon, New York to begin a new journey together. He found employment at Bay Berry Nursing Home and Nynex Phone Company before being hired by Greenwich Hospital where he served as head Cook. He was employed at Greenwich Hospital for 22 1/2 years before he had to retire due to health challenges. He met many co-workers who adored him. His memories at Greenwich Hospital still live on due to his kind and loving spirit.

Keith became a dedicated member at Allen AME Church in White Plains, New York where he served on the Board of Trustees and the Culinary Committee for many years until his health would not allow him to serve any longer. Over the past 10 years Keith has had many health challenges where he had been hospitalized for months at a time. Through it all Keith continued to give God All the Praise. A song that would reflect his spirit is "I won't complain. "Everyone Keith came in contact with can share how he touched them in a memorable way. His spirit will truly live on in our hearts!

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Marian Odessa Sherwood Green, Charles Edward Green Jr., his nephew, Derrick Copper and many aunts and uncles. Left to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 43 years, Vanessa Sherwood; his daughter Lakesha Sherwood; 2 grandchildren: Makayla McIntyre and Mason Sherwood all of Mount Vernon NY; 4 sisters: Georgene Cooper, Earthalee Cooper, Cynthia Smothers and Melinda Sylvia all of Easton MD; one brother Gregory Hall of Palm Springs, FL and a brother from another mother, Douglas Brown, of Columbus, GA.; his favorite aunt Florence Louise Sherwood of Easton, MD; uncles: Stanley Sherwood, Jacob (MaryAnne) Sherwood; and Norman (Lila) Sherwood all of Gary, IN; one special uncle, Earl Sherwood of Easton, MD; one niece Krystle Smothers, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
