Ralph Isaac Elsey Sr. was born August 31,1929, in Salisbury, Maryland he was the son of the late Dr. Arthur Brown and the late Mable Roberts (Gale) He attended public schools in Wicomico County.

Ralph later joined the United States Army and served time in the Korean War.  He owned and operated a trucking company, Elsey & Sons and drove tractor trailer for over 55 years and was known as Ace Handle (CB Handle). Ralph was a long-time member of Elsey United Methodist Church and served as a Trustee for eight (8) years and then became a "Honorary Trustee."  He was fondly known as the Mayor of Jesterville until his time was needed on a higher level.

On September 11,1951, Ralph married Thressa Johnson, who preceded him in death. He was married to Thressa Mable Elsey for 62 years. They were blessed with seven 7 children of which one preceded him in death Ralph Jr.

Ralph leaves to cherish fond memories with his children: Gloria Jean (Ruth), Pamela, Deborah, Wendy Davis (Robert), Teressa Slade (Bernard), and Robert; one sister, Roysetta Parsons; a brother-in-law, Hughes Wright (Susie), two special friends: Alfred and Martina Lipperini, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

In addition to his children, Ralph was preceded in death by siblings: Vincent (Sonny) Elsey and Susie Gale Wright. He was fondly called "Pop-Pop" by 20 + grandchildren, 30+ great and great-great grandchildren, and "Uncle Ralph" by his many nieces and nephews.

Ralph will be remembered for his conversations about his trucking career and all that he experienced during that time.  He will also be remembered for the love he had for his community and his involvement with improvements throughout the community.

On Wednesday, August 10, 2023, at 3:30 pm, our unforgettable father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend was called home and is now in Heaven giving orders.
