IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda Renay
(Speedy) Skinner
September 24, 1960 – October 22, 2023
Wanda Renay Skinner was born of Leroy McKinley Skinner and Anna Lee Skinner in Easton Md. Wanda is survived by her daughter Takiya L. Johnson, and 2 sisters, Tonya L. Skinner and Yvonne L. Skinner, nephew Carroll E. Skinner, niece Brooke M. Skinner, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and extended family and church members.
Wanda fondly known as "Speedy" worked as a cashier at the Easton Acme for 15 years where she was coined the nickname due to her many customer service awards for speed and accuracy throughout her career there until her illness ended her tenure ; not just a job but a place she also considered as her work home with co-workers as extended family, and a place where she made so many friends; all of which she loved dearly and looked forward to seeing and serving on a daily basis!
Wanda's favorite color was purple and a near second was pink! She attended school in Easton, and she worked in the system where she was an aid for quite some time as she loved to work with children. She later worked at the Easton Acme and tried her hand as a contractor and worked in the commercial cleaning business and served several years at Black and Decker!
She loved gospel music; soul music and she loved attending the Church services at Union Baptist Church. She often mentioned how wonderful the deaconesses were and how kind and loving the congregation was. As a child she loved cycling on her purple bicycle, and as she grew older, she kept in shape and enjoyed walking on a daily basis to get her exercise as many passersby would often stop to offer her a ride but she would often decline as she loved to walk! She was always at work on time with that amazing smile and "can do it" attitude! She was such a hard worker!
Fashion was also a favorite, she loved seeing well-dressed people and being amongst the well-dressed!
Wanda will be remembered for her infectious smile that lit up the world! She loved to sit and chat the time away with anyone that would listen! Even when succumbing to her illness, she would still make time to speak and chat with those that she knew, and she easily made friends so that there was never a stranger in her life!
Wanda is loved by many and as we pay homage to the life she lived and look forward to seeing her again one day, for now we will say farewell until we meet again. The angels in heaven rejoiced when she was called home and we're sure that the many family members and friends welcomed her into the Kingdom of God called Heaven. Although she is missed her spirit will forever be with us!
We Miss You and Love You very much Wanda! Rest in Peace…
