December 1, 1939 – February 20, 2025
Barbara Leolo Stanley, 85 of Trappe, entered peacefully her Eternal Rest on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at University Shore Medical Center, Easton. She was born, December 1, 1939, in Trappe to the late Josiah and Mary R Chase.
Barbara attended the Talbot County Public School system and graduated with the Class of 1958 from Robert Russum Moton High School. Shortly after high school she married the late Daniel Stanley.
Barbara was no stranger to work. She worked various jobs throughout her life including Tidewater Inn, Easton Manor, and the Holiday Inn. Her religious walk began as a child at home with parents and family. Barbara continued her walk with the Lord by attending Scotts United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member and served until her health began to fail. When asked how she was feeling, Barbara would reply, "I'm leaving it up to the Lord." She enjoyed doing Word Search puzzles, watching Soaps, and playing cards with her family. Barbara also loved some fried chicken.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her 2 children: Romona and Jeffrey Stanley; 6 sisters: Alberta and Roberta Chase (twins), Helen Pritchett, Harriett Washington, Elizabeth Blackwell, and Anna Kilson; 4 brothers: Charles Butler, Levi Greene, Charles and Joseph Chase.
Barbara leaves to cherish fond memories with her 2 children: Vanessa Chase and James Stanley (Luisa); 7 grandchildren: Danielle Little (Brian), LaToya Jenkins (Shawn), Dennis Ayres, Tanekia Stanley, Jeffone Hill, Stephanie and James Stanley, Jr.; 21 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Jacqueline Stanton (Lester), Joyce White, and Mary Brooks; 4 brothers: Walter, Sr., James, Robert (Harriett), and David (Dawn) Chase; one uncle, Douglas Gibson; one special friend, Ressie Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
