Katherine Moore Obituary

Katherine Elizabeth Moore (Manuel) 94 of South Jersey, departed this life and received her wings on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Virtua Voorhees Hospital in Voorhees, NJ.  She was the daughter of the late James and Irene Manuel.

Katherine received her education in the Worcester County Public Schools. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. in the environmental services department for over 25 years, where she received several accommodations for her work ethic and excellence.

Katherine enjoyed cooking large meals for her family and friends, doing word search puzzles, and talking on her cell phone to everyone just don’t call her during her favorite soap operas, Young and The Restless and Bold and The Beautiful.  Katherine loved to travel, she went on several cruises, she always loved jumping in the car to take trips to Maryland to see her family.  We would be sitting at home, and she would say you feel like driving to Maryland for the weekend, I would say sure let’s go. She also loved taking bus trips to the Casinos, if she was winning, which was all the time she would let the bus leave her and call and say I was winning, and the bus left, and you have to come get me and we knew we had better be on our way to pick her up. The kids loved it when she came home from the casinos because they knew grandmom was giving out some of her winnings. The kids always expressed how blessed they were to have a grandmother like her, she was loving and generous but at the same time she believed in discipline.  She always spoke her mind even if you did not want to hear it.  You always knew that no matter what she did or said it came from a place of love.  Katherine spent the last 8 years in the Complete Care Kresson View Nursing Home where she was loved by the staff, care givers and the nurses.  She also enjoyed playing bingo, participating in arts & crafts and attending Sunday service at the nursing home with the residents.  She had several roommates during her stay but none as special as her last roommate Miss Bertha Wurst, they were the perfect match. She also enjoyed visits from her family and friends, they would visit and bring her meals, Katherine loved to eat good food.  Katherine enjoyed being the Rona Barrett of the family, if you wanted to get the update on what was going on in the family all you had to do was call her and she would fill you in.  Katherine accepted Jesus Christ into her life at very early age and continued to serve the lord until the day she transitioned. Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will truly be missed.  Katherine will live on in the hearts of many.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Katherine Elizabeth McNeil (Elbert Mack McNeil); 2 sisters: Marion Pierce and Bertha Sawyer; grandchildren: Eldred Moore Jr. (Radia) Anthony Moore (Christine) Jeremy Moore (Mir) Shalonda Moore, Candace Harris, Edward Harris Jr., Cherron Gil (Frank), Edward J.
