Martin Hernandez

Martin Hernandez, 58 of Seaford, departed this life Monday, February 28, 2023, at Tidal Health in Salisbury, MD. He was the son of Juanita Rodriquez Cervantes and the late Felix Hernandez, born November 2, 1964, in Texas.

Martin had a special love for his bike. Although he was born in Texas, his family later moved to Florida, and then to Delaware. He attended the public schools of Laurel and Seaford. He enjoyed fishing, camping, eating, and cooking for his family. Above all, he enjoyed raising his children. He was a jokester. He loved cracking jokes and making people laugh. Martin was a dependable man, and was always there for his family. He had an unconditional love for his family. Martin did not mix words. Often you did not like what he said, but it was said because he only wanted the best for everyone. Later in his life he obtained his GED. Martin enjoyed many years working as a welder for Potts Welding in Seaford, Marble Works in Greenwood, and for Joseph T Richardson in Harrington, Delaware. His pride and joy were his truck and his dog, Jake.

In addition to his mother, Martin leaves to cherish fond memories with 2 daughters: Raven (Robert) Hernandez and Samie Jo (AJ) Messick; one son, Martin R Hernandez, Jr.; his stepfather, Jose Cervantes; 3 brothers: Felix Hernandez, Ernest Gonzalez, Donald (Michelle) Wilson; 3 sisters: Olivia Hernandez, Janie Gonzalez, and Maria (Lee) Lipscomb;  grandchildren: Ahleyia, Raekuwon, and Jordan Cheers, Syncear and Dylanee Messick, Anthony, Emmie, Kane, Amelyia Stultz, Savannah Hernandez; 5great-grandchildren: Camelia Cheers, Treshawn Duncan, Jy’Cier Cheers, and Ava and Aurie Britt.
